Cornemuse de Poitou, early French bagpipe
Chanter in G, 1 brass key under barrel.
1 drone
Pitch A = 440 Hz
The design of this bagpipe has been inspired by the description and engraving of the "hautbois et musettes de Poitou" in Marin Mersenne's Harmonie universelle (1636).
Pulled out from the bag, the chanter can be played as a "hautbois de Poitou", with or without a windcap (see Hautbois de Poitou)
